Woodlands, Marshlands & Llamas

Start of trail
Here I am again.  I'm like a bad rash that won't go away lol.  Hope everyone is having a fine Friday.  Mine has been awesome, but tiring.  My mom and I got up, had some breakfast and took off on a long walk.  This time we went the opposite direction of where we went the other day.  It is still part of the John Muir Country Park, but it goes inland from the sea not along the coastline.  We walked through marshlands, and squelched around in some mud.  Met a lot of people out walking their dogs.  That is something that is different over here from California.  Everyone is friendly and will stop to speak to you.  And their dogs are just as friendly.  A lot of people over here let their dogs off the leash out in the country so you normally get greeted by their dogs first before you see the people..lol.  Lots of labradors, spaniels, collies and scottish terriers.  The other morning we got to see a Saluki.  It looks very much like a greyhound but has long hair.  She was so pretty and had the sweetest face.  Anyway, I digress ...back to today's walk.  Once we got through the marshlands, we came out at the East Link's Family Play Park.  My grandkids would have a blast there - especially Cole as they have a train he could ride :-)  Here's a link to their page if you want to check out what the park is about - East Links Family Park.
At the park they have all kinds of animals.  You can't access most of them unless you go into the park, but they did have llamas up near the path where my mom and I were walking.  One was really close to the fence, and he just sat there and stared at us while I shot a bunch of photos of him.  Nothing phased him, not even dogs that ran by him on their walk.  He was really cute.  I will be adding more photos of him to my photo album later tonight.  After leaving Mr Llama we wandered back out through the woods and headed back the way we came.  Which meant back through the mud lol.  Once we got back to the main road, we went up the side of the golf course and back into town.  Stopped in at the butchers to pick up some Beef Olives for my dad for supper.  He doesn't like turkey and that's what my mom and I are having for dinner tonight.  After the butcher, we headed home.  My runkeeper recorded as at 5.82 miles - so almost 6 miles - needless to say we were a little tired when we got home.  But there is no rest for the wicked.  We had some lunch and had to go pick up some more groceries at ASDA, so off we walked again.  This time about another mile.  So today was a good walking day.  Now we are in the process of making dinner.  I will probably sleep really well tonight after all the fresh Scottish air I breathed today lol.  Oh and today's weather was really beautiful.  Blue skies and sunshine.

Tomorrow we are going to be visiting Hale's Castle.  Going to take a bus into East Linton and walk down to the castle.  This castle is in ruins and is really in a beautiful spot. Last time I was there, Kristin was 4 years old and Zach was 3 months old, so its been a long time.  I am really looking forward to it.
Well that's all for tonight.  Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Talk with you all tomorrow - night night for now !!!
